ATLANTA ALUMNI 5K RUN/WALK!
GIVING STUDENTS THE SUPPORT THEY
NEED TO SUCCEED

Welcome 2024 HBCU family and supporters!

This year we are celebrating a milestone as we prepare to host our 15th Annual Atlanta HBCU 5K Run Walk!

It seems like yesterday when we launched our 1st race in Grant Park with just 250 participants. And thanks to you this event has grown into the largest run walk of it’s kind in the country!

For the past two years we have successfully raised and distributed over $200K in scholarships to metro Atlanta students through our HBCU alumni association member chapters and community partners. But what is really amazing about this feat is that we were able to accomplish this virtually while keeping our community safe and active.

This year, we are excited to build on our virtual success by bringing back by our physical run walk to Piedmont Park! Along with the physical run walk, we will continue to keep the virtual component of the run walk for all of our supporters who joined us from across the country and around the world. In addition to this, we are excited to announce this race will celebrate John R Lewis’ activism as a pioneer student activist and a human rights leader by hosting a Good Trouble Community Day in his honor during the Run/Walk,

We are also excited to have our HBCU Alumni Alliance affiliates in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia join this effort as we come together to raise funds for our students, honor John R. Lewis’ activism and promote healthy lifestyles by jointly hosting the HBCU Run Walk in our respective cities.

Lastly, I would like to recognize our supporters for your continued commitment toward this effort. Your participation brings alive our motto “Run for you. Run for them. Run for us.” Without your contributions we would not be celebrating 15 years of hosting this event so thank for your continued commitment and belief in our goal to support the mission of HBCUs and assist the students who attend them.

With much HBCU Pride!
